The Word that converted us and called us to discipleship, also calls us to live and work in community, as members of his glorious family in the people of God ( laos ). As members of the people of God, we are called to freedom, to use our liberty in Jesus Christ as an opportunity to fulfill the Great Commandment, that is, to love and serve others, as well as for the purpose of saving others for the cause of Christ. As members of God’s family, as those called to discipleship, community, and freedom, we are also called to engage in the mission of the Kingdom. God the Father has called us to fulfill the Great Commission, to do battle with our spiritual enemy the devil, and to demonstrate the life of the Kingdom through our love and good works. Our objective for this second segment of The Word that Calls is to enable you to see that: • The same Word that calls us to live as disciples of Jesus individually also calls us to live and work in community, as members of his glorious family in the people of God ( laos ).
