In next week’s lesson we will continue to explore the power of the Word of God as an instrument of the Holy Spirit to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. Regarding sin, the Word convicts us of our disobedience to God’s law and our disobedience. Regarding righteousness, it reveals the Lord as infinitely righteous and our own righteousness as unacceptable. Regarding judgment, it shows God’s intention to bring to account all beings in conjunction to his righteous demands, and their obedience to them. We’ll also see how the Word convicts us of the truth of Jesus Christ as the Bible’s central theme and focus, the Kingdom of God as the backdrop for God’s story, the prophets and Apostles as true and reliable witnesses of God’s revelation in the world.
