What is the attitude of every true believer to the people of God, the Church? Is it possible to maintain an intimate relationship with God in Christ and be indifferent to other Christians? Why or why not? 6. What is the connection between loving Jesus and loving other believers? Explain. 7. The Word of God, when it produces conversions, changes the attitude of the believer regarding the lost. Explain how the Word of God changes the relationship of a new believer with those who do not know Jesus. 8. Can a person really claim intimacy with Jesus if they show no interest in seeing others come to know him? Explain your answer. This lesson focuses upon the Word of God’s ability to create new life in the believer through repentance and faith, to deliver the believer from the effect and power of sin, and to produce within the heart and life new vital signs of the Spirit’s presence and power. The Word converts, that is, it transforms the life of believers, drawing them to God, to Christ, and giving them a desire to glorify God through all aspects of their life. The Word that converts is synonymous with the good news of salvation by faith in Jesus Christ. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the Word that converts. The Word of God leads the believer to metanoia , that is, repentance from sin and a turning towards God in Jesus Christ by faith in the Gospel.
