3. Have them actually select solutions to the situations, or approaches they would take, given the insight into the situation and the biblical principles that apply. This kind of reflection can help your students move from simply consideration of the truth, to its more fundamental application to their own lives and to the life situations of others. This section again gives you the right to “pile-drive” the truths one final time into the hearts and minds of the students before you end the lesson. Lest you think that this kind of approach is overkill, consider the following Scriptures: Phil. 3.1 – Finally, my brothers, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you is no trouble to me and is safe for you. 2 Pet. 1.12-15 – Therefore I intend always to remind you of these qualities, though you know them and are established in the truth that you have. [13] I think it right, as long as I amin this body, to stir you up by way of reminder, [14] since I know that the putting off of my body will be soon, as our Lord Jesus Christ made clear to me. [15] And I will make every effort so that after my departure you may be able at any time to recall these things. 2 Pet. 3.1 – This is now the second letter that I am writing to you, beloved. In both of them I am stirring up your sincere mind by way of reminder. 2 Tim. 1.6 – For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. The ministry of “reminding” is one of the key ministries that the godly teacher can do. Do not hesitate to reiterate the fundamental truths at every turn. You will ensure that the students make these truths their very own.
