5. His resurrection proves that our justification before God has been accomplished through him alone, Rom. 4.25.

6. And Jesus, as Lord of life, was resurrected as the first fruits of the great company of believers who will share in his resurrection glory, 1 Cor. 15.20-23.

E. The ascension is a visible sign of Jesus’ authority and headship, his exaltation as God’s triumphant Warrior, and Commander of the armies of God. In conjunction with the inauguration of the Kingdom of God through Jesus of Nazareth, Jesus has ascended into heaven. Why?

Conclusion • Jesus of Nazareth is supreme, the Anointed One of God through whom the promises of Abraham have been fulfilled. • In him, the Lord of all, the Kingdom’s presence realized, demonstrated in his incarnation, death, resurrection, and ascension.
