What specific ways were they to demonstrate justice and mercy within their ranks, to the rich and poor, to the vulnerable (i.e., the fatherless, orphan, widow), and to others in need? 6. In what way has now the Church of Jesus Christ become God’s kingdom community in this age, and to what is she called regarding God’s justice and mercy? 7. Describe the relationship between the Great and Second Commandments, and the new commandment given to us by our Lord Jesus Christ. How do these relate to each other, as well as to the call of the Church for justice and mercy? 8. How ought urban churches, as a representatives of God’s covenant people in the city, manifest these understandings of the Kingdom in the communities where they live and serve?
