work of Jesus Christ, and how that understanding and appreciation may impact our evangelism, discipleship, and church planting. Make sure that you emphasize this focus as you go forward in your discussion of these questions. Also, do not forget to qualify the discussion against the backdrop of the lesson and segment objectives you just covered. Focus their attention upon the objectives, and underscore the importance of a biblical mastery of the person and work of Christ for evangelistic ministry, especially in urban areas with their multicultural and multinational flavor. We must be ready to give an answer of the hope that is in us (1 Pet. 3.15), a hope which is anchored in the person of Jesus Christ. Do not fail to emphasize the Christ-centered nature of all evangelistic activity. The person of Christ is at the core of all testimony regarding the work and will of God in the world, and this again is the heart of the biblical testimony. John 5.39-40 - You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me, [40] yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life. Luke 24.27 - And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself. Luke 24.44 - Then he said to them, “These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.” John 1.45 - Philip found Nathanael and said to him, “We have found him of whomMoses in the Law and also the prophets wrote, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.” Acts 26.22-23 - To this day I have had the help that comes from God, and so I stand here testifying both to small and great, saying nothing but what the prophets and Moses said would come to pass: [23] that the Christ must suffer and that, by being the first to rise from the dead, he would proclaim light both to our people and to the Gentiles.
