III. Practical Suggestions in Equipping Believers

A. Nurture the growing believers.

1. Become a model of a faithful churchman, 1 John 2.12-14.

2. Refuse to acknowledge “Lone Ranger” ministry: submit to the authority of the leaders in your local church, Heb. 13.17.

3. Acknowledge the calling and gifting of God in the life of each person in the church (1 Cor. 12.11) “as the Holy Spirit chooses.”

4. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you the gifts and place for your disciple in the body, 1 Cor. 12.4-7.

5. Encourage experimentation and participation in dimensions of the body; allow people to be “zealous for good deeds,” cf. Titus 2.14.
