Now think carefully about how and in what specific ways you can relate these truths concerning follow-up and discipleship both to your own life and/or to your ministry through your church. Regardless of the role you currently play in your church, the need to follow up new converts and disciple growing Christians will be ever present. Your response to opportunities that exist in your church and ministry are numerous, and you will need to ask God, the Holy Spirit, for specific leading and direction as to where you can best serve the church in these ways. Think specifically now of your own life and ministry calling. HowGod might want you to change or alter your ministry approach based on these truths is largely dependent on your ability to hear what the Holy Spirit is saying to you about where you are, where your pastoral leadership is, where the members of your church are, and what specifically God is calling you to do right now, if anything, about these truths. Do not feel the need to react to these ideas; rather, spend time in both prayer and meditation before the Lord regarding your own ministries of follow-up and discipling. Moreover, you may already be involved in ministries such as this, whether with individuals or with groups, and the Lord wants you to continue in that work. What is important here is your ability to listen to the Lord, and respond to his specific leading regarding your ministry of discipleship in your church and ministry. Above all, then, please seek the Lord’s face as you ask him for his leading on how you can connect these truths in a practical way to your service for him. Come back next week ready to share your insights with the other learners in your class if the Lord so leads you.
