B. How do we find and equip these kind of deacons for our churches?

1. Pray and ask God to send us servants after his own heart.
2. Announce opportunities to serve to see who will emerge as servants of the body, Phil. 2.25-30.
3. Look for those whose lives and ministries display these characteristics, and challenge them to join the work, Phil. 2.19-22.
4. Challenge qualified individuals to serve as to Christ, John 12.26.
III. Principles and Practice of the Deacon’s Office
A. Recognize the importance of the office of deacon: no church can function effectively without these choice servants of God .
1. No leader can meet everyone’s needs: They meet the practical needs of those whose conditions are ignored because of overburdened leaders.
