emphasize throughout this module is that our primary intention behind doing study is to increase our love and worship of the Lord Jesus. Worship of Christ precedes and creates work for Christ; we were born again to praise, to worship God through our Lord Jesus Christ, and this devotion is to help them understand the reason proper for our study of God, the Son. Our highest motive, our purest desire, our fundamental aim is to understand his beauty, his glory, his majesty. When we come to comprehend the excellencies of Christ, the virtue and nature of our Lord, we are moved to obey him, to follow him, to honor him in all that we are and do. The Scriptures make it clear that the sovereign God has made all things for himself, including his people, for his own worship and glory: Ps. 135.3-6 - Praise the Lord, for the Lord is good; sing to his name, for it is pleasant! [4] For the Lord has chosen Jacob for himself, Israel as his own possession. [5] For I know that the Lord is great, and that our Lord is above all gods. [6] Whatever the Lord pleases, he does, in heaven and on earth, in the seas and all deeps. Ps. 33.11 - The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the plans of his heart to all generations. Exod. 19.5-6 - Now therefore, if you will indeed obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my treasured possession among all peoples, for all the earth is mine; [6] and you shall be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. These are the words that you will speak to the people of Israel. Mal. 3.17 - They shall be mine, says the Lord of hosts, in the day when I make up my treasured possession, and I will spare them as a man spares his son who serves him. Titus 2.14 - who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works. Deut. 32.9 - But the Lord’s portion is his people, Jacob his allotted heritage.

Ps. 115.3 - Our God is in the heavens; he does all that he pleases.
