When the New Testament proclaims the resurrection of Jesus Christ, it does not mean by this that something happened to the disciples. The latter is, of course, true. Yet even if nothing happened subsequently to the disciples, the resurrection would still be true. The proclamation of the resurrection is precisely that–the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

This objective ground of the resurrection has greatly impacted every dimensions of Christian faith, however, we must be convinced of its objective character first, and then explore the ramifications and implications of it for our faith, lives, and service to God.

This segment highlights the “Kilimanjaro” of the NT apostolic confession, that summit of truth that undergirds our hope and provides credibility to the entire Christian message, ethic, and mission. Jesus Christ has risen from the dead, and ascended to the right hand of God the Father, Almighty! Our aim in this section is to ensure that our students understand the most basic outline of the truths related to both events, and that they understand the ramifications and benefits associated with both. Related to this then, is the need for the students to grasp with critical and comprehensive scope the main points associated with these events. Review your objectives of the segment, and make certain that your handling of them covers all the relevant points targeted as the aims of this segment. The breadth of concepts regarding the Second Coming of Christ in all of its grand and mysterious fullness cannot be revisited here. What you ought to seek is that your students have a general idea of the broad outline of doctrine that is covered in the concise and truly helpful summary of the Nicene Creed covered in this segment. See if the students both understand and embrace the “big picture” underscored and
