3. Philip told Andrew, and Andrew and Philip went and told Jesus, 12.22.

B. Jesus declares the hour of his coming to have arrived: The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified , 12. 23.

1. The necessity of death for God’s grain of wheat to multiply, 12.24

2. The principle of life: loving one’s life in this domain is to lose it; hating one’s life in this domain is to keep it for eternal life, 12.25.

3. If anyone serves Jesus they must follow him, and where I am there my servant will be, 12.26a.

4. The one serving me will be honored by my Father , 12.26b.

C. Now is the time for the Son of Man to be glorified, 12.27-36.

1. Notice Jesus’ angst : John 12.27 – “Now is my soul troubled. And what shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’? But for this purpose I have come to this hour.”

2. The Voice from heaven, 12.28-30, “Father, glorify your name.” “I have glorified it, and will glorify it again,” 12.28.

a. The crowd heard it, and said it thundered.

b. Some others supposed an angel spoke to him, 12.29.
