The Gospe l of John

2. Jesus will ask the Father to give the disciples another Helper to be with them forever, 14.16.

a. Acts 9.31 – So the church throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria had peace and was being built up. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, it multiplied.

b. Acts 13.52 – And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.

c. Rom. 5.5 – and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

d. Rom. 8.15-16 – For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” [16] The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.

e. Rom. 14.17 – For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

f. Rom. 15.13 – May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

3. Jesus calls him the Spirit of Truth , 14.17.
