Conclusion and Review of the Major Concepts of Chapters 16-18

• Jesus of Nazareth comforts his disciples by promising to be the Giver of the Holy Spirit, the Helper sent from God who would reveal to them the glory of Christ, convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and show to the disciples the things to come. • As our Faithful Intercessor before the Father, Jesus prayed to God as our High Priest of heaven , the Agent and Representative of the Father who asked for our sanctification, our victory over the evil one, and our unity with him and the Father. • As the obedient Lamb of God who voluntarily laid down his life for the world, Jesus is the silent and shorn Lamb, the One who stands fearless and unbowed before his accusers, those who falsely accused him of blasphemy, treason, and deception. Despite it all, he represented his Father to the very end.
