3. Simon’s desire to fish, the disciples’ consent, and the lack of a catch that night, 21.3
4. Jesus appears at the shore ( yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus ), 21.4.
a. Mark 16.12 – After these things he appeared in another form to two of them, as they were walking into the country.
b. Luke 24.15-16 – While they were talking and discussing together, Jesus himself drew near and went with them. [16] But their eyes were kept from recognizing him.
c. Luke 24.31 – And their eyes were opened, and they recognized him. And he vanished from their sight.
d. John 20.14 – Having said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing, but she did not know that it was Jesus.
5. Jesus and the great catch, 21.5-6
a. Jesus’ question: Children, do you have any fish? , 21.5; “No,” 21.5b.
b. Jesus’ remedy: Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some, 20.6a.
c. The answer: So they cast it, and now they were not able to haul it in, because of the quantity of fish , 20.6.
