50 • Guard the Good Deposit: The Great Tradition for the Whole Church
3. We were crucified with him (Gal. 2.20). 4. We die with him, are buried with him, and are raised with him (Rom. 6.3–5). 5. We are reborn/made alive in him (Eph. 2.5). 6. We ascended with him and sit with him in the heavenly places (Eph. 2.6). 7. We participate in his body and blood through communion (1 Cor. 10.16–17). 8. We are transformed into his image (Rom. 8.28–29). 9. We are betrothed to him in marriage (2 Cor. 11.2). 10. We suffer with him (Rom. 8.17–18). 11. We will be resurrected in him (1 Cor. 15.48–49). 12. We will be glorified with him (Rom. 8.17). 13. We will be made completely like him (1 John 3.2). 14. We will be joint-heirs with him (Rom. 8.17). 15. We will reign with him forever (2 Tim. 2.12). 16. We will be made eternally one with him in marriage (Rev. 19.6–9). 5 The goal is to become like the Lord, to be formed in his image. The Church Year helps us get there.
