2. Let us meditate on its meaning for the sake of obedience, Josh. 1.7-8 – Only be strong and very courageous, being careful to do according to all the law that Moses my servant commanded you. Do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success wherever you go. [8] This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
3. Let us aim to teach it to others, Ezra 7.10 – For Ezra had set his heart to study the Law of the LORD, and to do it and to teach his statutes and rules in Israel.
IV. Pitfalls of an Undisciplined Mind
A. Worldliness: A worldly mind and heart will keep you away from the Word of God.
1. Love not the world, or the things in the world, 1 John 2.11-15.
2. To be friends with the world is to be God’s enemy, James 4.4.
3. Distraction and waste are the result of loving the world more than Christ, 2 Tim. 4.10.
4. Worldliness substitutes petty things for the treasure of God’s Word!
