What are three things you believe someone could do to ensure that they both get to know the pastor, and also begin to develop some good friendships with others in the body? Through repentance and faith we became children of God, and have experienced new life and adoption in his name. Christlikeness is the goal of the Christian life. • “No Christ, no church. Know Christ, know church!” If we intend on becoming a growing disciple of Jesus Christ, we must be baptized and become an active member in a local Christ-honoring church. You cannot grow as God wills by yourself, on your own. • The stronger the foundation of our faith, the more grounded and rooted our walk in Christ will be. It is important to start the Christian faith in him strong and established, so we can be built up in him in our walk and faith (Col. 2.6-7). • If you are a new or growing believer, make sure that you focus on being faithful in the essentials, continuing in Christ’s Word, walking with God, and being led by his Spirit. Growth demands time and investment, and we will reap a fruitful harvest if we do not give up (Gal. 6.7-9). Connection Now is the time to focus on your application of these truths as they relate to your own new beginning in Jesus Christ. Have I publicly declared my faith in baptism and become an active member of a church where Jesus is wor shiped and obeyed?
