3. Do not be afraid to share the wisdom that you have gained through your own ministry experience. You are a key resource to students and they should expect that you will make lessons you have learned available to them. However, always keep in mind that variables of culture, context, and personality may mean that what has worked for you may not always work for everyone. Make suggestions but dialogue with students about whether your experience seems workable in their context and, if not, what adaptations might be made to make it so. 1. Focus in on the central questions raised in both the Contact and Content sections, and dialogue with them. Use your Mentor’s Guide to review any relevant questions or data, and to check for additional help as you cover the Summary of Key Concepts section. This section is designed to provide you with a handy and ready review of the key principles and concepts covered in both of the video segments and segue questions. Use the summary to clarify any incomplete understandings that students may demonstrate in their answers. 2. Think through the principles using actual case studies. Review the Case Studies found in the student material and/or Mentor’s Guide. Be careful to allow for proper time with each case study you choose to cover. While it is not necessary to cover all of the Contacts and Case Studies in a lesson, the more you challenge your students to relate their understanding to actual lived experiences, the better they will comprehend the truths you are teaching. 3. Concentrate on their life situations as you correlate the biblical truth . Make certain that you allow time to discuss with your students the relevance of the key lesson principles for discipleship and ministry. These questions can be derived either from those they initiate with you, or select ones you raise during this section. D. Principles to remember in facilitating an effective Connection section:
