1. Understand the goal of discipleship: Disciples, not converts, Matt. 28.18-20.

2. Learn the basics yourself: Make certain you are followed up, Luke 6.40.

3. Focus on the Word of God, not methods and strategies, 1 Pet. 2.2.

4. Treat every convert as a newborn in Christ: abandon none, 1 Thess. 2.

5. Raise your own spiritual children, or find surrogate parents to raise them, 1 Cor. 4.

6. Focus on your oikos even in follow-up activities.

7. Recognize the effectiveness of following up in a cell group.
