1 John 3.8 (ESV) – Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. Matt. 12.28-30 (ESV) – But if it is by the Spirit of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. [29] Or how can someone enter a strong man's house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? Then indeed he may plunder his house. 1. Christ is everywhere asserting his authority over the enemy.
2. Christ has inaugurated the Kingdom of God, having rendered the power of the devil inoperative all over the world.
3. As representatives of God we go prophesying deliverance in Christ’s name to all who hear, releasing them from the power of the enemy, and setting them free as we proclaim the gospel of salvation.
