C. He is delegating responsibility to his messengers for particular continents, countries, areas, cities, villages and towns, neighborhoods, and families. Acts 18.10 (ESV) – “...for I am with you, and no one will attack you to harm you, for I have many in this city who are my people.” Acts 1.8 (ESV) – But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. Mark 16.15-15 (ESV) – And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. [16] Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.” Luke 24.44-48 (ESV) – Then he said to them, “These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.” [45] Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, [46] and said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, [47] and that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. [48] You are witnesses of these things.
1. Christ mentions geographical names when he discusses the harvest.
2. The gospel is to penetrate every address on the face of the earth.
3. We are delivery and messenger boys and girls: we are to witness to the reality of Jesus Christ in every single place where men and women reside.
