Ses s i on 3: Jesus Chr i s t as Lord of the Har ves t 53
D. The response of the apostolic heart: “Lord, send me wherever you want me to go.”
III. As Lord of the Harvest, Jesus Also Determines Who Will Represent Him (Selection).
A. He calls whomsoever he wills.
Acts 2.21 (ESV) – And it shall come to pass that everyone WHO CALLS UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD SHALL BE SAVED. Acts 2.39 (ESV) – For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself. Rom. 10.12-14 (ESV) – For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. [13] For “EVERYONE WHO CALLS ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED.” [14] But how are they to call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?
1. God is calling men and women to himself from all over the world.
2. Conversely, all who call on the name of the Lord will be saved.
3. People must hear the word of the Lord in order to call upon him for salvation.
