Ministry in a Multi-Cultural and Unchurched Society

Ses s i on 3: Jesus Chr i s t as Lord of the Har ves t 55

2 Cor. 9.8 (ESV) – And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. Phil. 4.11-13 (ESV) – Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. [12] I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. [13] I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

1. All that we need to accomplish God’s will in our lives has already been given in Christ.

2. You will never be sent anywhere without being given the necessary gifts, grace, and gumption to accomplish your task.

3. God never leaves his messengers hanging or stranded (cf., Matt. 28.20 [ESV] – “teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age”).

No matter how poor or talentless a local church may appear, that church is still God’s base of operation within its locality. In that con gregation dwells the living Christ in all His fullness. And out of His fullness these believers can penetrate their society with His grace and truth until the ultimate transformations emerge.
