Also, at least 50% of the course work required for your Certificate must be TUMI (National) developed courses.
Safeguarding Our Students’ Efforts: Partnerships with Accredited Programs The reason for these demands are clear. More and more, TUMI National is receiving requests to partner with accredited liberal arts programs who desire to provide our TUMI satellite student clientele with credit for classes taken. In order to guarantee these benefits for our students throughout our network, we must be diligent to ensure both the rigor and orthodoxy of our work throughout our system. We want to provide you and your students with maximum ability to use their Certificates, and where possible, use their credits toward continuing work. As you develop your courses, it will be essential for us to guarantee that you are using the same high standards we seek to maintain here, along with, of course, our commitment to students who may not have had the same opportunity to pursue Christian higher education. At the present time, only the Capstone Curriculum is recognized for credit with our accredited partners. While it may only be possible at present to receive academic credit for TUMI National course work at this time, we will be striving to obtain credit with partner institutions for site-developed programs as well. In terms of your own site-developed courses, we strongly urge you to be both creative and rigorous, taking advantage of faculty and resources locally, but maintaining our high standards of academic and ministry excellence. TUMI National must approve your individual Site-Developed Courses if you desire to receive credit toward an official TUMI Certificate program. Once you have gathered your resources, developed your faculty and designed your program, please be certain to send your draft to the Satellite Director of The UrbanMinistry Institute. We will dialogue with you concerning its content and structure, and advise and consult to ensure its approval.
