money from you.) Establish procedures to invoice and receipt your students, and develop simple, effective ways to collect monies from them (please refer to Appendix 18.4). 12. Make final preparations at your site for your initial class sessions. In order to ensure smooth operation on your first day of class, you must double check all the necessary items for the class session. Attention to practical details can often be the difference between running a smooth course or making it a disorganized distraction. Make sure that you have ordered and received curriculum materials from The Urban Ministry Institute (if you selected that option). Also, make certain that you have ordered and received the appropriate course textbooks for students (see Appendix 18.3). Walk through the classroom to ensure all the proper items for teaching are in place, and spend time praying for your first students and their learning. Cover all details regarding scheduling, teachers, and materials to guarantee, as much as lies within you, a safe and effective class experience. 13. Implement your programming at your site on schedule and within budget. Begin your classes on time and with genuine enthusiasm. Never lose sight of the intent of your training: equipping urban leaders for the Church. Do not leave the oversight of the training to others; facilitate and oversee individual courses. Offer your professors and mentors all the support they need, and contact us with any questions you may have. As the course develops, make certain that you refer regularly to our web site for updates and information. At the end of the course, collect and record grades, and then distribute transcripts (please see Appendix 19.7). 14. Finally, communicate often with The Urban Ministry Institute , potential donors, mentors, professors, and students to ensure a successful, growing training program. We are here to help you, to aid you in bearing much fruit that remains, and to see genuine revival come to our cities.
