Get Ready – You’re in the Fight of Your Life

The essence of all really great accomplishments is acting wisely and wholly in that moment that taxes you greatly. Every struggle that matters presents you with only a few options, and whatever you choose, you will reap a host of consequences, based on the choice you make. God has called every Christian to fight, to be a soldier, to engage the enemy with the armor that he himself has provided to all of us (Eph. 6.10-18). Victory demands that we consider the options, make our choice, and follow through with obedience and perseverance till the end. Thankfully, we do not have to fight alone. The weapons of our warfare are designed to provide us with the power to overcome (2 Cor. 10.3-5). • You can give up. When faced with some outward challenge, you can simply surrender to the fight; raise the white flag, and give yourself over to the enemy’s mercies (Gal. 6.7-10).

• You can give in. The sheer weight and pressure of the test can cause you inwardly to just give in to temptation; this kind of surrender is not from an enemy without, but due to your own issues within (1 Cor. 13.7; 2 Tim. 3.12; Acts 14.22). • You can give all you got to the Lord. Inspired by the example of Christ and his bond servants in the Scriptures and life, we can surrender all that we are and all we have to God, that he might do in and through us whatever he pleases (4.7; 1 Pet. 5.8-9).

As warriors of the Kingdom, we commit ourselves without condition to Jesus Christ, as both the Savior and Lord of all our lives.
