3. Surrender to Christ is about defeating his cosmic enemy. Jesus’ offer of surrender is a part of his plan to defeat the powers that rebel against God and infest our world – liberating you is a part God’s liberation of everything, i.e., nature, systems, animals, humankind, all creation. To lose you is to lose part of his creation, and he ain’t having that! , 1 John 3.8; Luke 14.25-33; Matt. 6.33.

B. The Key Illustration: Do you function Canteen style or Nozzle style ?

1. Canteen style operates on the basis of a limited, prescribed amount that can be used up, and then needs to be refilled. (See Jer. 2.13 – for my people have committed two evils: they have forsaken me, the fountain of living waters, and hewed out cisterns for themselves, broken cisterns that can hold no water.) Nozzle style , however, is about tapping into God’s unlimited power source, abiding in it, letting it flow through you. It is about hooking up to the source of power and having continuous divine supply.
