A PPENDIX 6 TUMI Prisoner Advice for Reentry

Greg’s Story First, please stay prayerful and remain hopeful. God’s got you. While nothing was as I was told, I am blessed! So amazingly, wonderfully blessed! For starters, initially I had no housing. I was homeless but got into a “sober-living” bed through B.I. (Behavioral Interventions), a division of GEO Corp. I also signed up with Veterans Community Services for housing assistance, but B.I. got me housed first. The Lord has shown me much favor, including showing me the spot where I slept when I was homeless. I got EBT asap, which typically is $194 every month. Once I got the EBT card and an I.D. card I was able to get an “Obama phone,” with unlimited talk and text plus 500 MB data. As a homeless EBT recipient I was able to go to several fast food restaurants to eat hot meals. I only go to the office for monthly UA’s. Employment was sporadic, but I got hired here at the Plaza Hotel one year ago, and I am full-time, working the front desk two days per week and three days maintenance. God is good, all the time! Additionally, I see God bringing healing in my family relationships, including my wife. I know He is working behind the scenes, and occasionally gives me glimpses to bolster my faith. Now as to the where I am with regard to the local Body of Christ. God has me on a mission. He has opened the doors for me to share His testimony of what He did in my life to encourage others and lay the foundation for continued support and future ministry. God connected me to a TUMI brother in ministry and I have opportunities to share at those services. I wrapped up my ninth module in TUMI, and I hope to complete the program. I have received manifold blessings. I am blessed by the best! Woo-Hoo! All in all, I’ve had some challenges, and with that some periods of depression and extreme sadness. Yet, at the end of the day, God is faithful. He always comes through, though not on my schedule. His grace is my provision. Without it I would not be doing as well as I am.

Stay prayerful, stay hopeful, and stay connected to the body. For “In him we live and move and have our being’ as even some of your own
