Benediction Father, help us to cling to the testimony of your apostles, believing their word that the Lord has risen, and has appeared to witnesses chosen beforehand. We believe in him and affirm that we now have received life in his name. Glory to God in the highest, and peace on earth to all who have received his favor through Christ, our Lord. Amen. Affirmation for the Day Sunday: Blessed are those who, even though they have not witnessed Jesus’s resurrection, yet still do believe. Monday: The revelation of Jesus alive was a shocking reality to the stunned and doubtful disciples. Tuesday: Thomas’s refusal to believe without physical proof is a sign of his spiritual shortsightedness. Wednesday: Jesus’s invitation to Thomas to inspect him was a gracious appeal to Thomas’s heart. Thursday: Thomas’s exclamation of Jesus as Lord and God showed his heart’s faith in Jesus. Friday: Skepticism can be overcome if the heart of the skeptic remains open to God’s truth. Saturday: Living by faith does not deny physical evidence, but clings to the word of God. Pray without Ceasing – Flash Prayer for the Day Eternal God and Father, reveal to us the living Christ, who rose from the grave and gave us his own Holy Spirit to lead and guide us.
