We began our investigation into the nature of practical Christian leadership with a consideration of our responsibility to represent our Lord and his purposes before his people, in worship, Word, and sacrament. In this lesson we explored our responsibility to quickly incorporate new believers into the Church, and our need to provide care and feeding for them as our own spiritual children. In our next lesson, we will begin to explore the difficult but necessary topic of Church discipline, howwe as leaders are to handle sin in the body, and in what ways we can so exhort and challenge the body as to ensure its ongoing depth and growth in Christ. We will look carefully at the role of biblical exhortation, as well as a key biblical outline for restoring the wayward disciple back to fellowship with the Lord and his people.
