Take a moment and pray before reading the following passage. Pray that God will open your heart and mind to the truth of his Word. If you have time, read the passage more than once—underlining things that stand out to you. “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.” John 15.16 Lord God, creator of all things, thank you for this new day filled with grace and brand new mercy. Father, you know my thoughts. Take over my mind with your truth. The struggles of life want to consume me and tempt me with my old way of thinking and living. You, O Lord, have the power to make all things new. Renew my mind. Refresh my spirit. Wrap me with new garments of righteousness and holiness. This is the day that you have made, Lord, and I will rejoice and be glad in it. Amen.
