C. Summarize the results on the charter form. (See blank charter on next page and sample completed charters in Planting Churches among the City’s Poor: An Anthology of Urban Church Planting Resources. )
1. Write out the vision statement and all the other information requested on the form.
2. The requested length of charter is generally the date from your vision statement. But in some rare cases, it could be shorter if you want to have a formal charter review at an earlier date. 3. Note: If you decide to add a team member at a later date, it is highly recommended that you take the person through a formal process of commitment to the team and your vision. Other teams have suffered when members are added without the thorough understanding of, and commitment to, the team’s vision and goals.
4. Write down your key goals.
IV. Commit at least 30 minutes to prayer, focusing on your need to review and revisit your plan as God leads throughout your church planting effort.
