Appendix 149

5. Once the service group is clear on its mission, the group might want to brainstorm different goal possibilities which address specifically what the group wants to do in its upcoming service project. 6. After prayer and discussion, select from the group of possibilities some specific goals you intend to accomplish, writing them down, making certain that your goal statements are measurable and attainable. 7. Each goal should be prayerfully considered and strategically planned, detailing what must be done as the goal is pursued. Four questions may help in this process:

a. What precisely do we hope to accomplish?

b. When exactly or how frequently do we want to do it?

c. What person(s) are needed to make the plan a reality?

d. What resources do we need to acquire, and when, to accomplish our goal?

8. Set dates, give assignments, and make preparation to carry out your service project. Make sure that you communicate with the Project Coordinator for the Chapter regularly, and keep all team members informed of any changes to the plan as things develop. 9. Follow through on your service project as a team, getting as much accomplished as you possibly can within the time available. Emphasize the need to be punctual on site, to work hard and efficiently together throughout the entire project, and make sure that you finish well, cleaning up all things and setting things in place, once you have completed your work.
