Since our founding nearly fifty years ago, World Impact has spoken prophetically of God’s election of the poor (those rich in faith), and of the great opportunity of the evangelical church to plant healthy churches in communities of poverty (James 2.5). At a time when only 5% of the world’s pastors have received any formal theological or ministry education, we are convinced that a new generation of Christian workers can be equipped to reach to testify to the Gospel in their cities. Throughout our history we have lived in the communities we serve, ministered to the needs of the whole person, and sought to meet the needs of the whole family. Now we seek to empower healthy churches to bear witness and transform their own communities for Christ. Our investment in these churches will produce the highest return-on-investment imaginable: saved individuals, healthy churches, and transformed communities, all in Christ’s name!
