B. Teaching may be overly analytical and technical, resulting in an overly intellectualized approach to the truth.

1. The apostles were effective teachers, but were viewed as ignorant and unlearned men, Acts 4.13.

2. God has chosen the foolish to shame the wise, 1 Cor. 1.27.

3. Godly teachers must recognize that God reveals his deepest truths to the humble and contrite, not the bright and the strong, Matt. 11.25.

4. Academic credential can trump divine unction in many churches today.

C. Teaching may become overly dependent upon methods and gimmicks, and miss the meat of the message.

1. Many rely now on trends and approaches which tend to obscure the meaning of the Gospel.

2. Jesus Christ and his Kingdom is at the heart of the apostolic message, and is what we must focus upon in our teaching ministry.

D. Teaching may ignore the role of the Holy Spirit, substituting academic performance for spiritual anointing.

1. Teaching the things of the Spirit demand the Spirit’s participation, 1 Cor. 2.9-16.
