* In surveying both the preaching and or teaching ministry, which seems to be more in sync with your temperament, gifts, and background? What have others who have known you well suggested about your presentation gifts? * When you consider all the various settings in which you can teach (i.e., mentoring an individual, small group, large congregation, even an arena) which do you feel most comfortable in teaching? Which of these would you feel least comfortable? * What has been the reaction of others to your teaching–have they mentioned that your teaching has instructed and encouraged them? Where and when did you receive this testimony and affirmation? * How have your spiritual leaders evaluated the fruitfulness of your teaching ministry in the past? Would they affirm that perhaps God may be leading you into a teaching ministry? * If you do not feel you have the gift of teaching, how have you done when you have had to teach others ; was it something you looked forward to, dreaded, worried over? How does preparing presentations and delivering them make you feel? * Have you ever personally discipled others, either in a one-on-one relationship or in a small group? How would you evaluate your experience in discipleship? Are you currently discipling someone now? How is that relationship going? * Do you feel that you are able to so teach the Bible that you could inform someone or a group that would protect them from the threat of heresy, schism, dead orthodoxy, and spiritual immaturity? What are the gaps in your knowledge of Scripture that would make your teaching less than acceptable at this level of defense of doctrine? * Do you tend to go to the Bible or other sources to answer questions about the historic Christian faith? Explain your answer. * How might your own personal character help or hinder you in equipping others for the work of the ministry? How would you say you deal with the “cardinal virtues and vices” of the teaching ministry, being clear in rightly dividing the Word of truth, and not being carried away by your own importance and life?
