a. Our teaching should emphasize honest devotion to Christ, not mastering tons of jargon and technical language, Isa. 28.10.

b. Solid teaching is about feeding lambs, not debating scholars, John 21.15.

c. We should concentrate on dealing with the real issues and situations our students are facing, where we find them.

(1) Philip and the Ethiopian Eunuch, Acts 8.26-40

(2) As teacher, humble yourself to be meaningful to their situation; make the sacrifice for your spiritual children, 2 Cor. 12.14

B. Use the plain language of your students in your lesson plans.

1. Forget about being eloquent, concentrate on being clear, 1 Cor. 2.1-2.

2. Use biblical language tools sparingly; if possible, keep your teaching in the tongue of your students (except where such language study enhances their learning, not your performance).

3. Speak the words of God using the language of the students you teach, 1 Pet. 4.11.

4. Human wisdom will fail you; seek the “words taught by the Spirit,” 1 Cor. 2.13.
