C. Use the actual experiences, stories, pictures, and issues in the lives of your students to serve as a bridge into your topic and content.

1. Look for analogies, metaphors, and stories in the lives of your students that can be used to introduce the themes you want to explore in your teaching.

2. Pay attention to the items that are recent in their history to use as the stair step into the issue.

a. The altar to the “unknown God,” Acts 17

b. What are the big issues that people are concerned about?

c. What are the opportunities that everyone is looking forward to?

d. What are the fears of the people, their critical concerns?

D. Make specific associations and points of contact with their life experience and living situation.

1. Learn to exegete ( read ) your people’s lives, and deliberately begin with their issues and ideas.

2. Enter into your communication of the Word of God through “the wandering around” method.
