Loving obedience puts us where we can “ask anything in His name,” with the assurance, that “He will do it.” Loving obedience brings us into the prayer realm, and makes us beneficiaries of the wealth of Christ, and of the riches of His grace, through the coming of the Holy Spirit who will abide with us, and be in us. Cheerful obedience to God, qualifies us to pray effectually.

Truly, if the assertions we made in this lesson concerning the Holy Spirit are correct, our ministry of preaching, our very life is inseparable from our spirituality, that is, our relationship to the Holy Spirit. God longs to be longed for, and we must oblige him by admitting our need for his grace and aid. Share specific requests with your fellow students, and trust God together to provide you with the grace to have his will accomplished in your life. It has been attributed to John Calvin to have referred to prayer as “the soul of faith,” and truly our faith is lifeless and empty without prayer. Seek to make contact with God on the issues covered in this lesson, and trust him for provision and direction.
