God’s Reign Consummated
Segment 1
Rev. Dr. Don L. Davis
We intend to define eschatology and its significance, outline briefly the biblical conception of death, and then discuss together the Bible’s teachings on the intermediate state. Our objectives for this first segment of God’s Reign Consummated is to enable you to: • Define and understand the importance of the doctrine of last things (eschatology) in the Scriptures, and its relationship to discipleship and Church life. • Articulate what the Bible teaches about death, both for the Christian and non-Christian. • Recite what the Scriptures teach on the intermediate state, that period between the death of an individual and the final end of all humankind at the consummation of God’s Kingdom.
