3. Ascension as the installation of Messiah’s kingship: he must reign until all his enemies are under his feet.
a. Ps. 110.1-2
b. 1 Cor. 15.25-27
c. 1 Pet. 3.22
Conclusion
» The giving of the Great Commission vindicates Jesus’ identity as Messiah, fulfilling Old Testament prophecy regarding God’s offer of salvation to the nations. » Jesus demonstrated his resurrection by many proofs to the Apostles, and ascended to heaven, from where he sent the Holy Spirit upon the Church. » Our Lord Jesus must and will reign until the Father determines the time and season for him to return and consummate the Kingdom of God on the earth. » As head of the Church and the Lord of all, Jesus’ death, resurrection, and ascension gives ample evidence that he, Jesus of Nazareth, is the Messiah of God.

May God give us the strength and the wisdom to be his disciples, and proclaim him alive throughout the earth, as our Lord, our Savior, and our Messiah, the anointed one of God.
Amen.
