Jesus Christ fulfills in meaning and substance all the offerings associated with the Temple sacrifices.

A. The Whole Burnt Offering

1. Type: Lev. 1; wholly consumed upon the altar as God’s meat; an offering given as a sweet smelling savor to God, when the worshiper comes for acceptance of his own voluntary will, not to make an atonement for sin but as an offering for life, Lev. 1.4,9.

2. Antitype: Jesus Christ gave himself of his own free will wholly to God to live according to God’s holy will, demonstrating in all he did and was his moral perfection and commitment to God and his law, Heb. 9.14.
