B. The Meal Offering

1. Type: Lev. 2.; a sweet smelling savor offering not of the life, but of the fruits, offered as a dedication to the Lord

2. Antitype: Jesus Christ presented and dedicated his life and sufferings to God, acceptable to him in every way (Matt. 3.16-17; Heb. 5.7 with John 4.34).

C. The Peace Offering

1. Type: Lev. 3; 7.11-21, 29-34; a sweet smelling savor offering to the Lord; the offerer kills it, and the offerer, God, and the priest are fed by it (cf. Lev. 7.15, 31-34); offered as a thanksgiving or as a vow.

2. Antitype: Jesus Christ himself is our peace, the peace of our lives before God and peace in life with God (Heb. 4.1ff.; Eph. 2.14).

D. The Sin Offering

1. Type: Lev. 4.1-35; 5.6-13; an offering not for acceptance, but for the sake of atoning for evil; the offerer brought it not so much because he had done evil, but that he himself was evil; the offering had to be without blemish, Lev. 4.28, 32.

2. Antitype: Jesus Christ became sin for us, he was charged with our offense, and identifies with our sin; he himself bore the penalty for our offense (Heb. 10.12; 1 John 2.2).
