Departing to Serve

Benediction O God, you gave your only Son to suffer death on the cross for our redemption, and by his glorious resurrection you delivered us from the power of death. Make us die every day to sin, that we may live with him forever in the joy of the resurrection, through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen. ~ Evangelical LutheranWorship (Conference of Bishops, Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, p. 91) Affirmation for the Day Sunday: Christ Jesus has risen from the dead. He is risen, indeed! Monday: The tomb where Jesus’s body lay is empty. He is not there. Tuesday: God the Father has raised Jesus from the dead. Wednesday: Jesus’s resurrection assures those who believe of his ultimate victory over Satan, sin, and death. Thursday: The resurrection is truly Good News, and it deserves to be told to all who are able to hear it. Friday: The angels of God are involved in the key events surrounding Jesus’s resurrection. Saturday: Jesus’s resurrection should provide us with boundless confidence in the sufficiency of his word and work. Pray without Ceasing – Flash Prayer for the Day Jesus of Nazareth, the one who was crucified, is no longer dead. He is risen, and risen, indeed!
