If you are interested in pursuing some of the ideas associated with the themes brought up in this lesson, The Church at Worship , you might want to give these books a try:

Resources and Bibliographies

Boschman, Lamar. The Rebirth of Music . Shippensburg: Destiny Image, 2000.

Bridges, Jerry. Transforming Grace: Living Confidently in God’s Unfailing Love . Colorado Springs, CO: NavPress, 1993. Engle, Paul E. Baker’s Worship Handbook . Grand Rapids: Baker Book House, 1998. Hill, Andrew E. Enter His Courts With Praise! Grand Rapids: Baker Book House, 1993. Oden, Thomas C. The Transforming Power of Grace . Nashville: Abingdon Press, 1993. Now is the time in the lesson to discover what facets of this biblical theology is most applicable to your personal life. Where might the Holy Spirit be calling you to most readily apply in your current ministry situation these teachings on the grace of God, and the worship that a full understanding of that grace leads to in our personal and church lives? Making clear and dynamic ministry connections is a major skill of any qualified leader, and now is an opportunity for you to practice this skill, especially in connection to your own life. Meditate on these truths and see which one(s) you might need to think about and pray for throughout this next week. Be open to how the Holy Spirit might want you to emphasize these truths as you minister to those under your care this week, and ask him for wisdom as you apply these truths to your particular situation. Pray to God for yourself and those whom you serve, that you might specifically come to understand and appreciate the power of the transforming grace of God in your life and the lives of those whom you disciple and teach. Ask the Holy Spirit to make Christ’s love more real in your personal life, and seek his power as to how you might become more free in expressing your praise and thanksgiving to God for all he is and has done in your life. Especially ask the Lord for insight into those things, Webber, Robert. Planning Blended Worship . Nashville: Abingdon, 1998.
