The wicked are fully confident in their evil because they do not realize that their day of harvest is coming, Eccles. 8.11-13 – Because the sentence against an evil deed is not executed speedily, the heart of the children of man is fully set to do evil. [12] Though a sinner does evil a hundred times and prolongs his life, yet I know that it will be well with those who fear God, because they fear before him. [13] But it will not be well with the wicked, neither will he prolong his days like a shadow, because he does not fear before God.

C. The application of the principle to our personal discipline and testimony

1. Learn the power of patience in all manner of spiritual development.

2. Watch out for grumbling and complaining, James 5.7-9 – Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains. [8] You also, be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand. [9] Do not grumble against one another, brothers, so that you may not be judged; behold, the Judge is standing at the door. 3. Embrace the power of the “mean time” (remember Ishmael, that is, the power of doubt comes strongest when we are waiting for the manifestation of the thing we have been striving for).
