The Lord is our Rock and Strength, and as such, we ought to acknowledge him in the discipline of regular, brief moments of morning and evening prayer, praise, and submission.
Why Every Disciple, Christian Home, and Family Should Offer Morning and Evening Sacrifices of Praise
I. It is fitting . Building the habit of daily moments of brief acknowledgment allow you to both begin and end your day recognizing God as your Source and Sustainer during the day, and your Shield and Defense during the night.
A. God is worthy of our praise, and as his priesthood, we are commissioned to offer up spiritual sacrifices to God.
1. It is a good thing to praise him, whatever the time, Ps. 92.1-2 – It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to your name, O Most High; [2] to declare your steadfast love in the morning, and your faithfulness by night. 2. Those who offer thanksgiving as sacrifices to God honors him, Ps. 50.23 – The one who offers thanksgiving as his sacrifice glorifies me; to one who orders his way rightly I will show the salvation of God!”
3. The saints of God in Christ are a holy priesthood to offer spiritual sacrifices to God.
