3. We can celebrate through the cultivation of a spirit of creativity and experimentation to discover new, better ways to express our joy in the Lord.
a. We are free to express our gratitude and allegiance to God in new ways.
(1) 1 Cor. 7.22 – For he who was called in the Lord as a slave is a freedman of the Lord. Likewise he who was free when called is a slave of Christ.
(2) 2 Cor. 3.17 – Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
(3) Gal. 5.13 – For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. (4) 1 Pet. 2.16 – Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God.
b. Avenues of free worship before God
(1) Through our worship schedules: break up monotony and familiarity
(2) Through our use of games and fun
(3) Through our use of fantasy and imagination
(4) Through our productions of art, drama, writing, music, etc.
4. As liberated, Spirit-filled believers, we can encourage celebration in the context of our families as the people of God.
